Guidance and Support
GEMI will guide you through the design process and educate you to make decisions to enhance your designs. At all stages of the production process you make approvals removing all the risk. GEMI is clothing production with peace of mind. We also have a manufacturing capacity to manage a variety of productions with miniums as low as 50 units.
GEMI Capacity
We have capacity to manage your small runs (minimum of only 50 units) up to large scale production orders with an annual capacity for 50,000 units. These are much smaller than the minimums required by large-scale factories in China and Bangladesh where you are pressured to over order and left with losses at the end of the season. These factories are also not run by an Australian who understands your business like GEMI.

We can produce your WHOLE collection, no need to find different manufacturers for your small and large runs – we can handle all of your production needs from design consultation in Melbourne to the finished product. We have superior technical skills in areas such as yardage printing, placement printing, pigment dye, digital printing, beading , crochet and embroidery (machine and hand).

We maintain the highest of ethical standards in our business with expert local staff who are treated like family, most having committed to GEMI since our beginning. All staff are paid a monthly wage, minimum four weeks annual leave, cultural holidays, sick leave and funded medical care for their whole family. GEMI provides food for the staff and supports each staff member through personal hurdles. They are not treated like a disposable at a sweat-shop, they are respected like the talented human resources they are.

Environmental Footprint
ETHICAL ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES are integral to everything we do at GEMI. We are not using the community – we are part of it. We love and respect the Bali environment and our goal is to be the first rubbish free factory in Indonesia. We recycle left-over fabric scraps and donate supplies to local orphanages and mechanic stores. We use natural resources like the radiant heat of the sun to dry our fabrics rather than contributing to environmental degradation in using electricity and machines unnecessarily. We use organic fabrics and dyes when possible and dispose of our waste responsibly.

Confidentiality
GEMI understands the importance of confidentially, your designs are yours and will not be seen by other clients. GEMI will sign confidentially agreements when provided by designers.
